A Daughter's Tribute
Today is Mother's Day 2018. It is my HONOR to write this blog as a tribute to my mother. As most of you know by now, my mom went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 19, 2018. Right up until she took her last breath, her life was a testimony to all who came into her room to assist her, or to visit with her.
Last night, I went to church and heard a fine message by Pastor Scott Lewald based on Philippians 2: 3-8. During the message, Pastor Scott focused primarily on relationships between husbands and wives; however, for me, his sermon was a summation of my mother's life. His main points were these:
- Think about the needs of others before your own needs. Make their needs your priority.
- Invest regularly and generously in the "love bank" of your family.
- Protect "home plate" (my mom was a true "mama bear!)
- Be a person of consistent prayer.
