A Daughter's Tribute
It is my HONOR to write this blog as a tribute to my mother who went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 19, 2018. Right up until she took her last breath, her life was a testimony to all who came into her room to assist her or to visit with her.
The evening of Mother's Day 2018, I went to church and heard a fine message by one of our pastors, Scott Lewald, based on Philippians 2: 3-8. During the message, Pastor Scott focused primarily on relationships between husbands and wives. For me, however, his sermon was a summation of my mother's life. His main points were these:
- Think about the needs of others before your own needs. Make their needs your priority.
- Invest regularly and generously in the "love bank" of your family.
- Protect "home plate" (my mom was a true "mama bear!)
- Be a person of consistent prayer.
